notes |
Title and credits appear at the end of the film (last credit: “All That Rises Daichi Saito 2007”).
The film begins in black for about 5 seconds. The exact beginning of the film is at 48 frames after the “2” on the countdown leader.
The first sound hits in the middle of the black part before the first image (a brief flash) appears.
Whenever possible, mask top and bottom of image to hide framelines that appear occasionally.
Unless focus is well set FOR THIS FILM prior to screening, show countdown leader and adjust focus in projection. Note that it is hard to get right focus with this film once it’s started.
You may need to re-adjust focus for end credits.
The only sound element in the film is acoustic violin that has a wide range of high- and low-pitch sounds. The film contains lots of silent moments as well. Sound level should be HIGH in order for every sound to be audible (you’ll probably have to set it higher than you normally do). Do a sound test prior to screening. High on bass, low on treble.
