Living in Brighton, UK since 1985, Ian has produced and developed music, super-8 films, electronic instruments, film and music programmes and light-show projections for concerts and club nights. Self- taught, operating alone and without funding, he has worked with second-hand and self-built equipment and produced over 50 short films since the early 1990s. Many of these have been screened at film festivals across Europe, USA, and Japan, and Ian has been a short film competition jury member at festivals in Norway and Germany.
His interest in electronic sound led to experimentation with building and modifying 9v circuitry, and he has gone on to construct a series of Hellitron tone generators, housed in uniquely customised boxes, and used to make the soundtracks to all his super-8 films.
