Born in 1953 in Upper Alsace, Gisele and Luc Meichler make films since 1976, turning the ALLEE of SIGNS. Therefore the process of making movies and independent production has emerged as one free practice possible. They create their own production, G.I.E. Meichler (LGM and ExLGM).
After the festival of Hyères, their affinities toward the experimental crossed the Cooperative des Cinéastes.
Subsequent films shot in 16mm, always inspired by the meeting of territory and text: AU LIEU, CONVERSIO AT FANTASMATA, RESERVE, MESCHT UN SCHNEE, NO HANS LAND, and there after videos like DEDALE and CINEFOTO and TROIS INCURSIONS DANS UN EBOULIS, ROSA ROT and VANITAS. Shot in 16mm, JEU ET SERIEUX is a contribution to the collective film "Outrage and rebellion".
Meanwhile a serie of videos was conducted in a friendly complicity with writers, painters, sculptors and a director of Alsace.
MASTER MATHIS will cross a territory and a painter of peasant struggles in 1525.
