PROJECTION OF THE FILMS
When renting a film from LIGHT CONE, you will receive a rare or unique copy that is very hard to replace. Film is very fragile, so take care of prints that are lent to you. A single projection can irremediably damage a copy. Projection is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor therefore an insurance is advisable because any damage will be invoiced. The insurance value to declare is 60 euros per minute of running time.
To ensure the best projection conditions, renters are advised to read the section on
"How to project a film".
Technical data is given in listings and in the catalogue as well as on the film cans. NOTE: the true rental prices are those indicated on our web site, not those found in printed catalogues and supplements.
RESPONSIBILITY
You or your institution is responsible for any damage to a film.
Each film can contains a simplified inspection slip that indicates the state of the print. Prints are maintained in the best condition possible. They are carefully inspected and repaired if necessary following each screening. Please take care of them, and remember that most of them are rare or unique prints.
Any damage which requires replacement of a sequence or of the complete print will be charged to you. Damage reimbursement covers: complete or partial destruction of the image from scratches, tears, or burns, torn perforations, removal or reversal of academy leader, the return of all films on a single reel (rather than each on its individual reel), missing film cores, cans, boxes. Video damage concerns: erasing or crumpling the tape, or return without original box.
The exhibitor is strongly advised to insure all films. The insurance value to declare is 60 euros per minute of running time.
SPECIAL SCREENING CONDITIONS
Films are rented out for a single conventional screening. For any event that modifies the screening conditions (for example: performance of live-music to the film, insertion of the film in a play or a show, or as part of a performance work, outdoor projection, etc.)
The customer must obtain previous written agreement from LIGHT CONE or the copyright holders.
