Devoted to experimental cinema and artists' films, the Light Cone/AFEA Resource Center is open to students, scholars, teachers, artists and curators who are researching or helping to promote this field of artistic creativity. The center's goal is to encourage cultural action and critical reaction in the realm that Light Cone has so staunchly defended for the past forty years, namely avant-garde cinema. The Resource Center offers a unique collection of documents and films on both classic and contemporary experimental film practice. Since 1999 the center has also housed the collection of the Archives du Film Expérimental d'Avignon (AFEA).
