LE VOYAGE INDIEN (PARTIE 1)

THE INDIAN JOURNEY (PART 1). « The Indian Journey » covers two different journeys that happened simultaneously. It contains 8mm footage shot in the early '70s by an anonymous traveler. This 20-minute film was discovered in a flea market in a box, together with a handwritten note describing an itinerary. On this box were inscribed two dates: 1973 and 1975. The images have been kept untouched, and in this film, they alternate with super-8 footage of my own, shot during two of my travels in 2008 and 2010, organized according to the itinerary I followed. The soundtrack is composed of ambient sounds recorded in the places where the film was shot, and others downloaded from free online sources. Some parts are kept silent.
This film offers a collection of subjective snapshots of dreamy places: it is not a travel journal, but a travel film. A travel through a signifier of the desire of poetic images and sounds.
