A reinterpretation of the 1999 Barbara Walters interview of Monica Lewinsky, with George Kuchar playing Barbara. The script confronts media creation of sexual identity through artifice and spectacle. Spectacle that makes private experience public, presented through television. The resultant intercut of the original and “re-created” interviews questions “what is the true nature of obscenity?”. What does “in her own words” signify when the subject is packaged by a broadcast network?
