Stephen Dwoskin was born in New York in 1939 and began directing independent short films in 1961. He continued his research in London, where he settled in 1964. He participated in the founding of London Filmmaker's Co-op in 1966. His films, which he shot himself, explore desire, sexual and moral solitude, the passage of time, and physical handicap.
His pioneering work is internationally recognized.
