Marcel Hanoun was born in 1929 in Tunis. Photographer and journalist, starting in 1955, he would produce seminal works in the history of the creation of filmic forms.
A politically engaged artist, he shot and edited most of his films. His work, which is both subversive and "ascetic," is renowned throughout the world and is recognized by the greatest directors.
