COLOUR WORK

by Michael MAZIÈRE
1981 / 16mm / color / silent / 1S / 11' 17

COLOUR WORK aims to present a subjective journey and to produce a translation of the perceptual experience of the look. Built around a cyclic structure the film has a musical pace and rhythm. Phenomenology meets poetry.

“Her film (RETOUR D'UN RÉPÈRE COMPOSÉ by Rose Lowder) and Lis Rhodes LIGHT READING and Joanna Millet's HOUSELIGHT and Michael Maziere's COLOUR WORK and David Parson's PICTURE PLANE II are a solid body of work which I don't think is being dealt with yet, for the issues raised and even the way the film operates on you as a spectator. It's just the beginning now of an attempt to figure out what a post Co-op, feminist anti narrative work really is.”
