In this film, Maziere reworks 50 years of cinema in which the actor Alain Delon appears to create a semi autobiographical narrative which speaks of glamour, masculinity and the ageing process. Partly inspired by Samuel Beckett’s "Film", ACTOR explores memory, and the fragile nature of melancholy through apparently simple use of cutting, narrative and the point of view shot. A film which understates its manipulative work for the benefit of clarity and a seamless form.
