«The constellation is familiar: woman, hero, villain and executor. The location is exotic, as are the pictures, taken from a Japanese Samurai series. The difference between European and Japanese TV standards make them look blue and flickering. The dramatic scene is reduced to its essence, which is, however, celebrated in pleasurable repeats, rhythmically set off against one another. Images of direct action are contrasted with wide shots of every universally understandable facial expression - signs of challenge, agitation, fear and final relief. The fragments of original sounds and music create sound loops which enhance the suggestive effect. The duel becomes a ritual.
