I produced the piece «Hatehate», in 2002. The film is a single take, with no edits. I produced the music prior to making the film, during the production the image formed in my mind of a hand and knife. In post production, i used mathematical algorithms to correlate the frequency modulation of the sound to the forward and reverse speed of the film. This speed was modulated at 25 frames a second. the concept of a single take and close cropped detail is intended to heighten tension and anxiety through concentration. It is in direct opposition to the prevalent fast jump cut, visual overload.
