ORATURE

Orature, is a term used up until the Renaissance to designate all oral works that are not limited to simple communication, but manifest themselves through aesthetics and ethics. When my friend Sylvie Boulloud, a filmmaker in touch with my work and with Lettrism, asked me to encounter her during a neo-Dadaist opening , a shameless plagiarism of our painting, I was of course ready to fulfil an amicable obligation, but also to accept, an always detestable, confrontation with the pseudo-artist in order to take up our ongoing «dialogue", dangerous and useless as it is. However by chance, the person in question was late, so late for the rendezvous that my friend, in order not to lose any more time, decided to film me by myself without waiting for the other individual to show up at his own show, thus preventing our encounter in front on the camera. It's this very quasi-monologue in front of the lens that is basis of the recent film ORATURE, made by reworking the soundtrack according to my own cinematographical aesthetics of course, the sounds being retranscribed.
