Counting: 1 To 100 Or Xs ( A part of MODELS, Reel 2, 1972) "Counting 1 to 100 or X" consists of four 100 feet films. In the first 100 feet, the numbers 1 to 100 are drawn on the last frame of every foot (1.6 seconds) except every 10th frame which is marked by an X. The number of Xs are multiplied by 10, 20, 40, 80 at each 100 feet; thus at the second 100 feet, 20 Xs replace the numbers. At the 4th 100 feet, there are 80 Xs and the remaining 20 numbers are left. The viewer would try to count the numbers of 1 to 100 "reading" the Xs as the numbers. To illustrate the structure as following:
#1: 123456789X111213141516171819X........99X. 10Xs #2:1234X6789X11121314X16171819X...........99X 20Xs #3:X234XX789XX121314X16171819XX.........99X 40X #4:XXX4XXX8XXXXX14XXXX18XX.............98XX 80X.

Models, Reel 2 (B-1~4) consists of four works and is dealt with, different from Reel 1, symbol/words, and the logic in film. First "Counting 1 to 100 or X" is made of four 100feet films and the number of 1 to 100 are replaced by multiplied (10, 20, 40, 80) Xs, which may be "read" as numbers through repeated perception. "Seeing, not Seeing" is dealt with the relation of light and darkness to the words. At first "Seeing" is followed by light and "Not Seeing" by darkness using clear and black leaders respectively and second time it is re versed as "Seeing" by darkness and "Not Seeing" by light with certain duration every time.
