STUDIE N° 11

by Oskar FISCHINGER
1932 / b&w / sound / 1S / 4' 00

"Seeking a suitable visualization for a Mozart minuet, Fischinger studied rococo ornamentation. He made it more abstract, by refining its lines and curves, by geometralising them. Then he used these lines as the patterns and trajectories of his choreography. Thus, STUDIE N° 11 is the best example, at Fischinger, of the production of complex movements by means of simple forms." William Moritz.
