PRINCIPLE 9

by BOTBORG
2005 / Mini DV / color / sound / 1S / 3' 00

Botborg's PRINCIPLE 9 begins with swirls of primary colors accompanied by waves of lulling bass tones. In line with the synaesthesia concept, the viewer can 'see' the tones at same time as 'hearing' the patterns. Botborg directs the chaos inherent in their feedback system towards solid replicable patterns of black and white accented by the brightest colors of the spectrum. Sound and image accelerate to hectic speeds before movement is purposely stalled (as if stopping traffic to admire the view), before launching again into another increasingly vigorous assault of noise and color.
