Synopsis : « Impressions » is an aesthetic journey based on portraits of personalities filmed by the french film-maker Gérard Courant. The resulting film investigates the subject of the portrait under various aspects : universes of forms, colours, rhythms and identities…
Technique : Based on Gérard Courant ‘s « Cinématon ». Series of portraits filmed in Super 8 since 1978. Hybridization of mixed Super 8 films, Mpg compressions, phone cell, and digital shooting. Edited and re-worked in Final Cut (special effects, double exposure…).
