A film of a performance piece based around a new 3 channel electronic composition created by Ian Helliwell, with his self-built tone generating equipment – Hellitrons and Hellisizers – to make all the sounds in 3 sections. The music repeats and goes through 3 cycles, while a quarter inch magnetic tape loop plays simultaneously through an open reel tape recorder and loudspeaker, and is mixed live, in and out of the main recording.
Ian collaborated with Brighton based dancer/choreographer Charlotte Froud, to formulate a dance in close relationship with the electronic sounds, and this film captures a rehearsal for the live performance.
