The result of 4 years of searching out and sifting through hundreds of amateur standard 8mm films, extracting those sequences which exhibited certain inadvertent eye-catching qualities – light flare, accidental shooting, abstraction and camera judder. Over time these pieces of film were collated and gradually spliced together to construct an audio-visual collage, integrating the disparate elements. The music was recorded as a separate entity, starting with an improvisation on violin, and then built up with electronic sounds and percussion. It was originally composed as a piece for radio broadcast, and subsequently rearranged and edited to work with the film.
