Harking back to the early days of American animation when cartoon protagonists were routinely shot, soiled or blown up and the liquid in the animator's inkwell had intolerant inferences, Let Me Feel Your Finger First's POSTCOLONIAL CANNIBAL re-presents the problematical imagery of the 'colonial carnivalesque' using contemporary 3D techniques, with a character that remixes the conventional cartoon 'savage' and takes aim at animation's ignoble history of racial stereotyping.
