"Gideon Bachmann, filmmaker, journalist, and radio commentator was born in 1927 near Stuttgart, Germany and emigrated with his family in 1936 to what was then Palestine. He lived briefly in Prague before immigrating to the US in 1948. In New York in 1952 he enrolled in a class taught by Hans Richter at the City College of New York." (Scott Hammen)
