The Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) and the Kandinsky Library of the National Museum of Modern Art/CCI, Pompidou Center, are delighted to invite you to the launch of Expanded Nature - Écologies du cinéma expérimental, a collective publication edited by Elio Della Noce and Lucas Murari and published by Light Cone Editions.
Presenters: Elio Della Noce, Emmanuel Lefrant, Teresa Castro, Charlie Hewison.
Elio Della Noce is a poet, filmmaker and PhD researcher in cinema studies at Aix-Marseille University (LESA). He is a lecturer in cinema theory with a focus on the links between life forms and experimental cinema.
Emmanuel Lefrant lives and works in Paris, where he makes independent films, exclusively in the photochemical format. He is the co-director of Light Cone.
Teresa Castro is a docent in cinema studies at Sorbonne Nouvelle University. Her recent research focuses, in part, on the links between animism and cinema, ecocriticism and forms of plant life in visual culture.
Charlie Hewison is a language teacher and doctorate student at Paris Cité University. His research concerns contemporary experimental photochemical practices, considered from an ecocritical and (neo-)materialist perspective.
To mark the book's release, Light Cone proposes a Scratch screening, Expanded Nature, on Tuesday, May 10th, at the Luminor - Hôtel de Ville cinema (Paris 4th).
This publication was made possible by a publishing grant from the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) and the support of the Laboratoire d’Études en Sciences des Arts (LESA) of Aix-Marseille University.
