DIZZYMESS

This work is part of Austrian artist/filmmakers Ruth Anderwald and Leonhard Grond’s
3-year project on dizziness which ends in 2017.
Researching with my collaborator, Ruti Gadish, how dizziness has been represented on film and video led to the on-dizziness.org blog.
What appealed to me in this theme was the state of altered perception, spatial disorientation and instability in relation to moving images. The loss of gravitas can be a catalyst for exploring new spaces leading to a sense of giddiness and even foolishness perhaps.
Dizziness, in the sense that it inspires artists and filmmakers to move beyond their known borders, was what I was looking for.
