Zombiiie is the cover of Fela Kuti's Zombie song. At the beginning, this song aimed to criticize the blind obedience of Nigerian soldiers whose actions were to censor his music, considering it too controversial and critical in relation to the political power of the time (1977).
What interested me about this work was to immerse myself in a universe where the representation of my body could be the victim of projections from an imaginary world specific to Africa, specific to the clichés of the colonial era. And at the same time, find strategies to appropriate afrobeat, a genre linked to Fela Kuti's music, rich in musical instruments, despite the limitations that my deafness could cause.
