Especially in digital files, where exactly does the photograph separate itself from the moving image and vice versa? The Lumière Chronotope series investigates this question by radically expanding time through a series of digital transformations. The temporally transformed files have the appearance of still images when in fact various elements are indeed moving, though at radically slowed rates and with uneven rhythms that produce unexpected effects of digital abstraction.
