Just as the movements of Chinese boxing are the physical "utterances" of certain metaphysical concepts, MEDITATION ON VIOLENCE is, in cinematic terms, an exploration of these concepts through the use of physical movement as a unique means of visual expression. The film begins and ends in the middle of a movement, a visual sample taken from the life that was and remains limitless. The rhythm of breathing, and the alternation between negative/positive, are maintained as the boxer approaches and moves away from the camera.
