Gyrostasis (Model) is a videographic adaptation of Robert Smithson’s eponymous sculpture. It is the mise en scene of a sculptural scenario, which one could summarise as the projection of a triangular base towards its disappearance into the infinitely small, following a spiral trajectory. The montage prolongs this filiation with sculpture through the act of the cut, which controls the video’s rate of flow. Thanks to it, the images shear the landscape in a feverish ritual which seeks to perforate space.
