Shot on a single summer night in a Norfolk garden, 'Gunnera' is a self-indulgent and self-consciously camp little number. About that time, you could buy in the newsagents a rather handsomely photographed, glossy, fortnightly, soft porn magazine in full colour called 'Zeta'. Each number recounted the unlikely misadventures of scantily clad models threatened with fates worse than death. One of our two 'Gunnera' girls featured quite often in 'Zeta'. And that was where the concept (!) for the film came from. The sound track, of course, is from Pink Floyd's 'Umma Gumma'. As Frank Zappa might have said: 'Flora! Fauna! You wanna?...'
