"This acid film about post-68 America seems completely desarticulate at first, mixing sequences of a lake and construction sites with TV series. Then the editing becomes faster and more striking, the images sharper. James Cagney smashes a grapefruit on the face of Jean Harlow. Later, B.B. King, after Atwater, is juxtaposed to archival material where they parachute GI on vietnamese farmers. The hammering of pneumatic drills blends with the scratches produced by the edited magnetic Super8 and alludes to sub-machine gun shots - what weapon's fanatics call : the rock'n'roll. Twenty years after the war, the helmets are not opponents but artifacts of the working classes." Mahola Dargis
