“Miller was a historian and filmmaker who wrote and edited ‘Life of Abraham Lincoln Told from Original Photographs’ (1910) and the monumental, ten-volume ‘The Photographic Study of the Civil War’ (1911).
He made several features including the short art dance film ‘Diana the Huntress’ with producer Charles Allen and dancer-actor Paul Swan, and is best known in cinema for his screenplay for ‘Deliverance’ (1919) about Helen Keller. He also wrote the book Thomas A. Edison, ‘Benefactor of Mankind’ (1932).” —Bruce Posner
