Paolo Gioli was born in Sarzano di Rovigo on October 12, 1942. In 1969, back from New York, he moves to Rome and starts working with cinema first and then with photography, using pinhole cameras. In 1977, he starts using Polaroid materials and invents techniques for transferring to different media, especially drawing paper and silk.
He lived and worked in Lendinara; His artistic research concerned film, photofinish, Polaroid and Cibachrome media.
