Christian Chapiron, also known as Kiki Picasso, was born in Nice on April 15, 1956. A multidisciplinary artist, he was a member of the Bazooka movement, which collaborated with the newspaper Libération and the magazine Un Regard Moderne at the end of the 1970s.
After the dissolution of Bazooka, he began a career as a graphic designer for television, creating visual identities for a number of shows.
In the 1980s, he was one of the pioneer artists to use Paint Box, the first tablet for drawing.
He made music videos, album covers and illustrations, all the while producing personal work.
In 1984, he illustrated a limited edition of the first Swatch watch.
He was the artistic director of the magazine Maintenant, the first French media to denounce France's role in the 1995 Rwanda genocide.
In 2000, the team of Bazooka reformed to create a web version of Un Regard Moderne with daily illustrations of current events.
In 2002, he made the film TRAITEMENT DE SUBSTITUTION N°4 which brought together his video pieces made using Paint Box.
In recent years, he dedicates his time to painting, all the while continuing to participate in activist circles, principally as part of the organization dedicated to helping drug users, Asud.
