Sabine HIEBLER

Nationality: Austrian

Sabine Hiebler studied at the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz and works as a screenwriter, film director, producer, and visual artist.

Since 1987, she has been working as a team with Gerhard Ertl. Together, in the 1990s, Hiebler/Ertl produced and directed avant-garde films that were invited to and awarded at numerous international film festivals, including the Berlinale, New York Film Festival, and Toronto.

In parallel, in the field of visual arts, Hiebler/Ertl exhibited photography and video works at venues such as the Neue Galerie Graz, Ars Electronica, the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, and the Biennale de l'image Paris.

Subsequently, they turned to feature-length fiction films, creating the award-winning cinema films Nogo, Anfang 80 ("Coming of Age"), and Chucks.

Sabine Hiebler is a board member of the Association of Film Directors Austria (Verband Filmregie Österreich), a member of the Screenplay Association Austria (Drehbuchverband Austria), and a member of the Austrian Film Academy (Akademie des Österreichischen Films).
