16mm Films: Christopher Cogan has been making films for over two decades that portray strange actions by characters without voice or identity. The viewer is presented visions from a parallel reality. The obscure actions of Cogan's films evade the incessant media machine and stand against the eradication of mystery in the 21st century.
Improvisation on the original idea creates spontaneous energy throughout the production. Welcoming chance and embracing accidents are key elements. Some themes are fear, humor, control and the subconscious. Part of the challenge is to follow through with the idea, no matter how ridiculous it may seem.
