ÉTUDE CINÉMATOGRAPHIQUE SUR UNE ARABESQUE
(Version restaurée)

by Germaine DULAC
1929 / 35mm / b&w / silent / 1S / 8' 17

Since the original 35mm negative is lost, a 4K scan has been made by the laboratory Eclair Group using the best available sources: namely, a safety diacetate 35mm print held by the Cinémathèque Française.
The main focus of the restoration process has been the attenuation of signs of physical decay due to the passage of time, as well as color correction. Original flaws have been willfully preserved.

The project has been led by Light Cone with the aid of a selective grant for the digitization of cinematographic works belonging to cultural heritage by the CNC.

Cinema visually sensitised with the deepest sense of orchestration extends below the story like elusive music.
