OLIVA OLIVA is a journey into the lives of Spanish honeybee keepers in the extreme south of Spain. Peter Hoffmann shot this film over a period of two months, without crew or even sound man. Alone with a Super 8 film camera, he joined Olivas' family, expecting to film the traditionnal honey production before their expropriation of their farm, La Finca. But day after day, this burlesque aventure becomes a road movie across the remotest part of Spain, following in Buñuel’s footsteps and his mythical film, LAS HURDES.
