The bamboo grove at Les Anduses. Are we in the Orient? A market. Clothes hanging out to dry, splashes of color. The farmhouse at La Fage that Andrée and Michel have lent us.
I pulled the table out so that while reading, I could see the terrace, the valley below, the mountain transformed by the light. The camera on a tripod, next to me. Playing with nested focal lengths. Playing with light. The nature of things. A nude figure that doesn’t descend the stairs, but recalls chronophotography. Jakobois, to whom I showed these reels, was kind enough to encourage me to exhibit them. This montage is the work of his hands. Everything else is captured within the camera, traces of a summer.
