METRONOME (1978, 3' 00)
The pssage of late afternoon sun across a mantelpiece during during the course of a hour or more, recorded in time-lapse at the rate of one frame per second. The weight of the metronome arm is adjusted periodically during filming to alter the phasing of the two spring-round mechanisms - one in the camera, one in the metronome.

PORTRAIT WITH PARENTS (1975, 3' 00)
This was the first film in the series. My parents were visiting and I made this portrait of the three of us, myself reflected in the mirror, by winding the film through the camera by hand. The camera is fixed to wooden tripod that sways slighty with rhythm with the cranking motion.

CANDLE & CLOCK (1978, 3' 00)
A candle burns down under the period of a few hours as the shadow of a clock gradually climbs the wall, obscuring a photograph.
