Filmed on Super 8 during a Kurdish demonstration in Paris, CEM works on the idea of the collective body. The “cem” in Kurdish, or “jam” in Farsi, means togetherness, unitedness; the term also makes reference to Sufi gatherings, often using dance in their rituals.
