HYPNOS is a dream that the forest invites us to dream together with the sleeping trees. While dreaming we may encounter kami, the supernatural spirits that inhabit everything that exists, and who allow us to enter the vibrating labyrinth of forking branches and webs. The film weaves together images of forests with Japanese Noh theatre masks, whose origin is found in ancient animistic Shinto rituals that highlight the profound connections between nature, culture and spirituality.
