LET'S LOOK AT FLORIDA

by Hogan SEIDEL new filmmaker
2018 / 16mm / b&w / sound / 1 screen / 5' 31

The history of Florida's attempted draining and development is a tale of repeated failures dating back to Andrew Hamilton. In the Everglades, land has been drained, flooded, and irrigated countless times without success. Let's Look at Florida examines the state's simultaneous past and present, revealing how Floridians claim land that isn't theirs—by draining, hunting, and settling it. Yet, despite these efforts, the land continues to reclaim itself, swallowing its own history.
