From the series Portraits.

"MOTHER. Tuesday, April 13th, 1982. Belleville market... around 12.30pm. I've 'found' a text for the film SARA. Start with the cemetery sequence... yes, I made you come from Mexico to bring you there, to the cemetery, I waited many months, and your first reaction was: Aren't you ashamed to film me here, you want to bury me already? Yes, that's life, which you gave me, and now I also find that you are a giver of life and of death, the hollow space where life grows and death burrows. Yes, you've taught me to love cemeteries like one loves a body – you showed me your terrain, your space, the place where you reign, the unnameable hollow where I must run to save my life, you have resigned yourself and accepted the fight knowing that you were invincible." – Teo Hernández, notebook 4 sheet 18
