A boy came to a garden and was seduced by a man transformed by a strange flower. The strange flower man led the boy to the entrance of a forest that appeared mysterious and unknown, waiting for the boy to explore. In the creative project, The Chronicles of a Garden is a film made from the restored footage of an 8mm film made by Taiwanese artist Songdao Qianyezi in 1939. Through the story of The Chronicles of a Garden, I want to convey the human imagination and longing for nature, as well as the desire between men and the mysterious power of nature. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Chronicles of a Garden is also my reflection and contemplation on the response to the pandemic and the counterattack of nature.
