SHAPE SHIFTING

by Mikhail LYLOV & Elke MARHÖFER
2015 / 16mm / color / sound / 1 screen / 18' 26

Listening to the crackling of the forest, slowly entering that phase of existence known as vision, following the earthen ground that forms a landscape of the formless—a realm beyond form. Shape Shifting creates a territory imbued with movement across different territories and scales. the images offer a poetic, and heterogeneous narrative of a particular Japanese landscape, the satoyama, and the way it fosters human and non-human interactions.
