Filmed during a rehearsal by a group of dancers in Olinda (Brazil), the Maracatu is reputed to be the oldest Afro-Brazilian rhythm introduced by slaves. It is linked to carnival but, above all, to the Condomblé religion, which celebrates the black queens and kings. This dance exudes an incomparable energy, which can sometimes lead to a trance-like state.
