For twenty years, I lived in the same apartment in Paris. The “landscape” I looked at through the window became my home, my living space. It was also a kind of calendar, a clock: the passage of time, the changing of the seasons. When it was time to leave, I made this film to physically keep with me the images, details, lights, colors, and textures whose sight and existence were indispensable to me. I filmed still shots, interspersing them with black frames of varying lengths. I superimposed different shots six times onto the same film, altering their duration and that of the black frames. Each layer thus has its own rhythm, determined in advance. Ultimately, the series of images interlock like segments of memory. (Giovanna Puggioni)
