The main character in this short film has nothing to do with the world outside. She stays inside en indulges in a cosy stream of everyday worries, the routine of daily life. She waters the plants, makes a sandwich, pours a cup of tea, and ˆyeah, why not ? - waters the plants again. Indeed the amaryllis is looking gorgeous this year, but it pales before the scenery unfolding in the background: the wallpaper comes unglued and flips out with bright colors. Strange patterns tumble over each other in their appetite for attention and thirst for glory. They comment on this diligent housekeeper, fluttering about her like phantasms, making disjointed announcements and echos. My oh my. This film has been made with the technique of multiple exposures, animation, and travelling matte printing. The music is written and performed by Kamiel Tolenaars.
