The third part in a series of films dealing with naturally-derived psychedelia. Shot during a performance by Rhode Island noise band Lightning Bolt, this film documents the transformation of a rock audience's collective freak-out into a trance ritual of the highest spiritual order.
A tiny blog document,10/7/07: Ben Russell, where have you been all my life? I've been waiting for this film! I've heard rumblings of your collaboration with Lightning Bolt. My friend, T., ventured alone out to a dark, unknown location in Bushwick(?). He told me about this, oh yeah, blood circulates through the veins of the underground. This work reminds me of the Zanzibar films, early Philippe Garrel, the figures lit up against the black night, the beautiful losers I love so much. And the saints and poets of El Greco . . .
