This film is a daily record of a year at Mount Battie, Maine. It is not a story; yet it conveys a story of the earth and its inhabitants. Clouds pass and weather changes. Wind blows. Snow falls. The landscape changes color. People appear and disappear. In cars, in trucks, on bicycles and motorcycles, or just on foot, people come up to Mount Battie to see the ocean. They come to Mount Battie and stare into the distance: the water and the sky. There is humility, peaceful celebration and recognition of being touched by something immense and unknown
